May Bank Holiday fun at Bristol's museums

Visitors to Bristol?s City Museum & Art Gallery on Sunday 3 May are invited to ?Make that link? at a special fun day dedicated to making connections with the museum?s weird and wonderful objects.

Taking inspiration from the museums Egypt gallery, children of all ages can take part in the following activities:

? Get creative and make their very own Egyptian necklace.
? Touch and explore fascinating and unusual objects on our handling table and see what they all have in common
? Make a zig-zag book and write their own mysterious Egyptian-themed story based on the objects they have seen.

The event is free of charge and takes place at Bristol?s City Museum & Art Gallery on Sunday 4 May from 10am to 4pm.

Steam railway on the harbourside

Down on the harbourside, the dockside railway will steam ahead on Saturday 2, Sunday 3 and Monday 4 May. The train will depart from the ss Great Britain on the harbourside every 40 minutes between 11am-5pm. Prices are ?3 return ?2 single. Under 6s Free. ss Great Britain ticket holders receive ?1 off. On Monday 4 May, the trains will be used as a ?stage ? for a jazz band performance at 12.30 to 2.30pm as part of the Floating Harbour 200 celebrations.
