This course is essential for organisations who request VAC’s support to write a
Business Plan. To participate, your organisation must send between 2 and 6 people on
this course.
Planning ahead is essential to the successful development of any organisation – if you don’t
know where you’re going, you’re bound to end up somewhere else!
This course will help your organisation to establish shared values and visions; to identify
clear long term aims; to review the organisation; and to write an action plan.
You’ll analyse your organisation’s strengths and weaknesses, be more clear about how well
you’re doing and identify realistic steps you can take in a definitive Action Plan to take your
organisation confidently forward for the next 6 months to a year.
VAC’s Development Team also offer support sessions after this training.

both internally and to the outside world that the work of your organisation is worthwhile.
This practical course explores the meaning of monitoring, evaluation and other
commonly associated terms. It then guides participants through the process of developing
SMART outputs, outcomes and indicators and looks at some monitoring and evaluation
techniques.

introduce participants to legislation relevant to child protection, look at “best practice” and
participants’ responsibility for reporting child abuse, help them to identify signs of abuse

protection policy for the participants’ organisation.

up-to-date Equal Opportunities policy. It is considered best practice for voluntary
organisations to have an Equal Opportunities Policy and it’s one of the policies that funders
often require you to have prior to offering a grant. This workshop will equip you with the
skills to develop your own user friendly Equal Opportunities Policy. Participants will
understand the purpose of EO policies, look at some model examples, and be aware of the
essential elements for a good policy.
